You can help preserve the legacy of wildlife conservation by becoming a CVWO member and through additional donations. Naming rights opportunities for programs and memorial gifts are also available to honor individuals, groups and businesses who have provided special help. Your support helps:
to hire seasonal staff, who conduct field research and make educational presentations to the public
to print literature
to purchase equipment
to strengthen grant applications, by demonstrating public support
The Observatory is not backed by any foundation, university or government body. Generous contributions by individuals, the pursuit of grants and the Observatory’s primary fund-raising event and team birding competition, “The Kiptopeke Challenge,” provide most of the funding for programs. The Observatory Board of Directors, a volunteer body, pledges to put all contributions to good use in carrying out the mission of field research and environmental education.
Members receive regular mailings of newsletters and field research reports. Special gifts and personalized tours of Observatory programs are available at the Thrush level and above.
Annual membership categories, January through December are:
Warbler $25 Sparrow
$50 Thrush $100
Falcon $250 Eagle (Life) $500
